CARE & SUPPORT

Pastoral Care

Readers

Holy Trinity has two Readers who are trained and licenced to preach, teach and assist with pastoral care and support in the parish.

Lay Pastoral Ministers

The church has two commissioned Lay Pastoral Ministers. They particularly help to offer pastoral care and support in the parish. Their work is quite varied but includes monitoring the sick and visiting them, supporting new Christians and people new to the church and helping those who are finding life a struggle for what ever reason.

Home Communion and Nursing Homes

We have a busy programme of taking communion to people who are housebound or in Nursing Homes. We are always glad to receive requests from anyone who would welcome this ministry.

Funeral and Bereavement Ministry

Holy Trinity is heavily involved in funeral ministry and we try to make funerals both a celebration of a person’s life and a commending of their life into God’s eternal care. We also want to offer the best possible care to the bereaved. As part of this we have a bereavement team to support those who need help and we have regular memorial services where loved ones are remembered.

Ministry Group

The Ministry Group was set up several years ago and developed to help in the support of the more vulnerable members of our church family by regular ‘phone contact, home and hospital visits and home communion. The members comprise the Clergy, Readers, Authorised Pastoral Assistants and Church Wardens.

You can share concerns with any member of the Ministry Group who will, of course, treat matters with sensitivity and confidentiality. The current members are: Olive Sangha, Elizabeth Slowther, Maureen Palmer, Jenene Snowball, Dinah Gollan, Ann Forth & Andrew Cresswell.
